Wera Hold Function Bits
We’ve all been in a situation where we’ve balanced a screw on the end of a bit, trying to guide it through maze of crap jammed into modern compact cars. (Or whatever it is you choose to work on) If we’re going to subject ourselves to this agony, you should give Wera’s Hold Function Bits a try. They have an interference fit with recessed torx screws, so they grip onto fasteners really well. In fact, if you push them on too hard, you’ll find that after youv’e screwed something in, the bit will grip onto the screw more than your magnetic bit holder, and you may leave the bit on the screw. These aren’t my everyday use bits; they’re just apart of my arsenal that I keep for those trick/hard to access fasteners. Just gently push it on so you don’t loose the bit.
Not much to showcase about bits. They come various lengths, but I opted for the shortest style. I don’t use these all the time, just as needed. You know you have the right bits when you see ‘HF’ on the laser engraving.
This photo does not do the Hold Function bits justice. I was shaking screws like a mad man in my garage for a good 5 minutes. They work, and they’ll work with all ferrous and non ferrous screws. While shaking the bit around, the magnet holding the bit let go before the bit let go of the screw. With that said, you don’t want to jam screws into these bits like they owe you money
